Stefan Kohlbacher received a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from the University of Vienna in 2017. He then went on to pursue the Masters program in Drug Discovery and Development, also at the University of Vienna. In his Master thesis he investigated the application of deep neural networks for pharmacophore based de-novo design. While pursuing his Master, he gathered extensive experience in the field of Machine Learning and Data Science in the Pharmacoinformatics Research Group of Prof. Gerhard Ecker. After finishing his his Master in 2019 he started a PhD in the Cheminformatics Research Group. His main fields of research include the development of AI enhanced pharmacophores as part of the IMI NeuroDeRisk Project.
